Welcome
We provide a place for children and families to grow and flourish
Tiny Trees is focused on nurturing and protecting the young child’s sense of wonder and imagination. Play is the work of childhood and our environment is carefully prepared for the developmental needs of the young child. Through play, each child learns a broad range of social-emotional, cognitive and linguistic skills.
Vision
To give families a supportive space that nourishes a love for nature and learning, and provides children opportunities to foster a sense of wonder.
Mission
Tiny Trees supports families through multi-age kindergarten, childcare, parenting support, and genuine love from all teachers
How We Operate
Each program is a business individually owned and operated. Everyone has the support from the founder of Tiny Trees Homer’s Forest School, Hanna Young. We all meet regularly as a team to discuss questions, problem solve, work together and attend training’s. We celebrate festivals together and follow the same principles and policies each bringing our own twist and experiences to the individual programs.
““Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom.” ”
KEY ELEMENTS OF Our CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CURRICULUM
AMPLE TIME AND SPACE
We provide time and space for joyful creative play and imagination during out time inside and outside.
CARING ENVIRONMENTS
We work very hard to create caring environments that nourish the senses.
CONSISTENT RHYTHMS
Tiny Trees has established consistent rhythms that promote health, security, and trust.
REAL-LIFE ACTIVITIES
During our day we engage children in real life activities that evoke reverence for the wonders of the world.
RELATIONSHIPS BASED ON LOVE
It is very important that we foster relationships based on love, respect, and care for each child as unique in body, soul, and spirit.
COMMITTED EDUCATORS
Our educators are committed to self-development and collaboration in community with others.
We believe children are on the path to becoming creative, resilient, and morally courageous enough to meet the challenges of the future. WECAN, Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America, has produced the following videos, filmed at Waldorf schools around the United States, to elaborate further on these important ideas.
