Madison Williams

I grew up in Sheridan Wyoming and moved to Homer Alaska two years ago.  After I finished my undergrad, I began traveling the world learning about regenerative agriculture and sustainable farming practices.  About 4 years ago I began my journey into education.  I have worked for ski schools, preschools and most recently worked for Tiny Tree’s Spruce View Forest school.  During my free time, I enjoy backpacking, skiing, and foraging for native plant around my local community.  I find the most joy in my life when I am spending time connecting with nature and learning from the outdoor environment.  Currently, I am a graduate student at Alaska Pacific University seeking a K-8 teaching certificate.  I am most interested in regenerative education and Maria Montessori’s follow the child motto.    I hope to create an environment where kids have the freedom to explore their local ecosystems through place-based learning practices and free play.

This summer, Wild Spirit Forest School will begin with a two-month summer camp at Bishops Beach.  We will be welcoming kids ages 3-6 into the program and will be learning about life in Kachemak Bay.
